The Brief
Birkett House School in Wigston, an SEN school catering to pupils aged 4-19 with diverse special educational needs and disabilities, required a transformed library space. The goal was to create an inviting, vibrant environment that engaged all pupils, offering a welcoming space rich with features that would support and inspire learning for every student.
The Solution
The design was heavily influenced by elements that the client identified from our website, particularly the sensory StoryWall® features. The concept centred on incorporating bright colours, face-on displays, and tactile, hands-on elements throughout the space. These features were essential to create a “wow” factor that would captivate and engage the pupils, making the library a stimulating and dynamic environment tailored to their needs.
