Whitchurch Hub, Cardiff
Funded by the Welsh Government's Integrated Care Fund and the Museums, Achives, and Libraries Division, the library refurbishment project at Whitchurch Library was to convert the historical facilities into a community Wellbeing Hub.
Cardiff Council cabinet member Lynda Thorne commented on Walesonline.co.uk prior to the start, saying "The focus of our wellbeing hubs will be to engage our increasingly older population and help combat the impact of isolationn on people's wellbeing by providing a range of services, events and activities based on their needs"
International School of Prague
The International School of Prague was a totally different type of project to work on due to the complexity created by the pandemic, but was a clear demonstration of how capabilities, experience and tight quality controls can bring a concept to life whatever the situation.
The project team responsible for bringing this project to fruition consisted of the International School of Prague, Construct ion Consultancy Sentient, Architectural Studio Pespektiv and British designer and manufacturer FG Library & Learning.
West Haddon Primary School
When Maxwell Facilities Management were looking to partner with a specialist supplier to design a memorable library space for West Haddon Primary School, they turned to library interior design experts FG Library and Learning for a solution with proven WOW factor.
We provided the full solution with new shelving, furniture, specialist graphics, acoustic panelling and flooring.
Carmarthen Library
Having undergone major refurbishment and an external facelift, Carmarthen Library re-opened with innovative, state-of-the-art technology, increased study space and improved stockholding. The £2.6 million investment was aimed at bringing Cultural Services to the forefront and in particular, supporting the library’s local history and Welsh/Anglo-Welsh collections.
Horley Library
Horley Library moved from its previous outdated premises to a new site in the town centre. It now has a refreshed selection of books and an expanded study area, the new library boasts a flexible open-plan layout allowing it to be used for large community events.
The library also houses a colourful and interactive children’s library, internet-connected computer terminals, laptop plug-in points and free wi-fi, two meeting rooms which community groups and businesses can hire and a local history centre providing easy access to records documenting Horley’s history.
