The Brief
The school recognised that their existing library space needed a transformation. It was described as messy and confusing for the students and lacked the capacity to accommodate various activities tailored to the students’ needs. The library required a complete makeover to create an inclusive, engaging, and calming environment.
The Solution
The library renovation project focused on creating a space that catered to the unique needs of Meadow High School’s students. Differing height bays were introduced to engage students of all ages. Muted tones and natural wood finishes, particularly the ‘Halifax Oak’ finish, were selected for their tactile nature. The use of such materials aimed to create a calming atmosphere, benefiting students with specific sensory conditions.
